Zum Frühstück haben wir wieder mal einen Besucher, hungrig wie üblich. Ich weiß auch nicht warum wir die anlocken wie die Motten ans Licht. Wir gehen noch ein bißchen einkaufen und sind dann auf dem Weg in den Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

We have another visitor for breakfast, hungry as usual. I dont know why we atract them like moth by light. We shop a bit and then we are off to the north, to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park.

Das erste was wir zu sehen bekommen ist der getarnte Nachfolger vom Mercedes SLS, sogar mit Leonberger Nummerschild und wild beklebt. Leider war die Kamera noch nicht fertig, also keine Bilder mit denen wir den Trip bezahlen könnten. Der Weg ist wie erwartet supergut und meistens schnurgerade.

The first thing we get to see is the successor of the Mercedes SLS, even with a German Numberplate, and heavily disguised by stickers. Unfortunatly, our camera was not ready, so no pictures with we could pay the trip. The road is as expected in very good shape and mostly straight.

Wie gesagt, meistens gerade.

Man merkt schon, dass man durch eine Halbwüste fährt, wir sind aber überrascht wieviel hier doch wächst, wir dachten es wären nur rote Dünen.

Ypi notice that you drive through a semi desert, but we are still surprised how much stuff grows here, we though only red dunes here.

Am frühen Nachmittag sind wir dann da, Botswana ist hier nur 20m entfernt.

We arrive early afternoon, Botswana is only 20m away.

Natürlich fahren wir noch raus, der Park auf der Südafrikanischen Seite besteht im wesentlichen aus 2 Tälern und 2 Strassen, dazwischen ist viel Platz für die Tiere. Es gibt hier keine Elefanten, Nashörner und natürlich keine Hippos, der Rest ist aber vertreten, wenn auch nich in so großen Zahlen wie im Krüger oder Chobe.

Of course we go for a Game drive, the Park on the South African side exist mainly of two valley and two roads, in between is lots of space for animals. There are no Elefants, No Rhinos and of course no Hippos, but the rest is here, albeit not in the big numbers like in Krüger or Chobe.

Es gibt ne Menge Springbocks.

There are a lof of Springboks.

Und Orix, in Africans auch Gemsbock genannt. Deshalb hieß der Park auch früher Gemsbockpark.

And Orix, in Africaans they are called Gemsbock. This is why the Park was named Gemsbockpark in earlier times.

Seit dem verrückten Vieh in der Lodge haben wir eine Menge Respekt vor denen.

Since the  crazy one in the Lodge, we have a lof of Respect.

Wir besuchen einen Platz zum Frühstücken, sehr hübsch nur die Anfahrt ist etwas steil, aber mit genug Schwung kommen wir hier problemlos hoch und wieder runter. Runter geht auch ohne Schwung.

We view a nice plave for breakfast, only the driveway is a bit steep, but with enough speed we get up and down. Down goes without speed.

Kurz vor Sonnenuntergang fahren wir in der Abendstimmung zurück, das ist schon ganz hübsch hier.

Short before sunset we drive back in the soft light of the evening. It is quite nice here.
